Of particular interest in one of the newspapers I was reading is the story of a chieftain of the Action Congress party.
This is the excerpts of the story:-
Hon. Babatunde Sowole Olubajo a.k.a. AC Ghana, who stormed P.M.News yesterday to protest the list of commissioners and special advisers released by Governor Fashola and the AC leadership. he expressed dissatisfaction with the list and called on the former governor, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to do something quickly about it.Olubajo, in tears, told P.M.News: “They have finished me. Tinubu and others, I mean Tunde Balogun and Fashola promised me that they would give me appointment and that I should go and work for Fashola.“I mortgaged my house at Ejigbo to borrow N6.5 million from Alhaji Samodi in Mushin to work for Fashola to become governor. Now, look at what they have done to me. They have abandoned me and appointed those who did not work for the party as commissioners and special advisers.“When I met Tinubu shortly before the election, he called Tunde Balogun, then Commissioner for Home Affairs, and asked him to talk to me. Balogun asked me to go and raise money to work for Fashola and that the party will not forget me when they are making appointments. I mortgaged my house and borrowed money and I worked very well for Fashola to become governor. Now, they have forgotten me.“On August 3 my mortgage agreement will expire and my house would be sold to recover the money I borrowed. My children and I will have no place to lay our heads; all because of Fashola. “I have been selling my cars to pay the mortgage but I have not been able to complete it. See, the dilemma I am in now. They have appointed commissioners and left me out.“Tinubu has disappointed me for the second time. Why did he promise me when he knew he can’t fulfil the promise? When I wanted to leave, he begged me and asked Tunde Balogun to talk to me. See me now. “They should please assist me to pay my mortgage loan, at least, to prevent my house from being sold,” the distraught AC chieftain from Oshodi-Isolo cried out.
What do you guys think about this guys story?

Mid-Week Review

Hi everyone, I am really sorry for not updating for the past few days. Right now I am in a state of distrust, My manager just resigned cos in her words she got a better job in a rival firm. The amazing twist to this gist is the fact that when this people in the "financial services" and " Investment Banking" industry talk about the firm they work for and how they like it , you will think that they did like to work in the same comapany forever, the funny thing is that most of them never spend more than two years in the same firm. they are always jumping around, 2 yrs at Lehman, 8 months at UBS, 1 year at Credit Suisse, Consultancy role at Goldman Sachs , etc., that within a spate of 10 years they would have worked in all the firms on Wall Street. Precisely my Manager has worked in 4 already. The only reason why I will miss my manager as you can guess, is the fact that she never gives me to much work to deliver and lest I forget, I will miss those "happy hours", they are so much fun that sometimes we will live a Bar thinking that we should be on our way home, and then someone on my team will tell us about a new Bar he or she discovered recently and off we go again. The only reason why I like this Corporate America is becauase of its flatness, meaning when a team goes out together you will never be able to tell who the boss is or who the junior staffers are. I almost forgot to tell you about the send-off outing we had for my manager last night, it was off the hook, about 25 of us from my group were at this lively bar from 7pm till Midnight, and guess what? we were all back at work by 8am this morning.

I will leave you with a naija joke someone shared with me.

Its Weekend.

I always look up to having a fun-filled weekend, because as you can guess my weekdays are always busy. My Friday night was quite interesting, I had different offers from various quarters, to either come along to a bar or nightclub or dinner or a party. One of my pals, was even getting really pushy about me coming along with him to the bar, Ryan talked about these particular bar, like a man who was trying to convince a girl to go on a date with him. I guess I would have succumbed to pressure and partake in one of these escapades, but my main party buddies did not want to hang out. So we finally berthed at a friends place in Brooklyn, where we chatted , while sipping glasses of Baccardi Zombie which is one of my new found love. We talked about everything from relationships, the new government in Nigeria, work and all. I will post detail of our discussion on relationships tomorrow. So y'all should watch out.

A friend sent this joke to me via e-mail and it did actually got me cracking and I decided to post it here.

Friendship Between Women:
A woman didn’t come home one night.
The next day she told her husband that
she had slept over at a friend’s house.
The man called his wife’s 10 best friends.
None of them knew about it.

Friendship Between Men:
A man didn’t come home one night.
The next day he told his wife that
he had slept over at a friend’s house.
The woman called her husband’s 10 best friends.
Eight of them confirmed that he had slept over
and two claimed that he was still there.

Welcome to my Blog

I have been wanting to do this blog thing for a while, but I guess I have been very busy with school and other stuffs. Even right now I am not sure what I am going to be blogging about, but my blog site has surely come to say. I have learnt a lot from my sojourn in this country, first I have realized that life is 90% fantasy and 10% reality and secondly, the fact that you detest/dislike/feel unsatisfied about anything/action/culture/behavior/character doesn't render such useless/wrong or bad.
I made Sound Sultan's song Mothaland my first post because from the song, I get inspired that one day I must return to my home country.
I can't but give props to Bellanaija, because I read her blog more than I read my Programming books.

Welcome
